Large globe shaped bulbs with mild flavour and golden straw coloured skin. A good exhibition onion but does not store for long periods. Use in early winter.

Where to sow

Early sowings in trays under glass at 14°C, only lightly covering with compost. Later sowings in the growing site 1cm (2") deep in rows 30cm (12") apart.

What to do next

Glasshouse seedlings should be pricked off into trays when about 15cm (6") tall, 5cm (2") apart. Harden off and plant in growing site 15cm (6") apart in early April. Outdoor sowings should be thinned in two stages until spacings of 15cm (6") between plants is achieved.
