Sow very thinly in drills 2cm (¾") deep with 30cm (12") between rows.
What to do next
Carrot fly is attracted by thinning, so try to avoid thinning at all. If plants are overcrowded, pull alternate roots when small and use whole. Preferably in the evening, do not leave debris on the garden as this will attract carrot fly.
